I ENTER THE CIRCLE WITH OPEN HANDS
I Enter the Circle with Open Hands explores the relationship between structure, memory and acceptance.
Built across a birch ply surface, intersecting grids and circular forms create a quiet tension between order and intuition. Areas of colour sit alongside exposed material, worn edges and traces of earlier decisions, allowing the history of the painting to remain present rather than being concealed.
The circle moves repeatedly through the composition — sometimes complete, sometimes interrupted — suggesting cycles of experience, return and renewal. Rather than seeking a perfect resolution, the work allows geometry, surface and imperfection to coexist.
The title reflects an openness to that process: entering without expectation, allowing what has already happened to become part of what comes next.
What has been lived does not disappear. It becomes part of the pattern.
