EL CAMINO
El Camino explores the relationship between custom craftsmanship, mechanical character and movement.
Based on a custom Indian motorcycle by Roland Sands Design, the work celebrates a machine shaped as much by individual vision as by engineering. Its stripped-back form and exposed mechanical presence emerge through layers of drawn detail, fragmented geometry and horizontal marks that extend beyond the physical boundaries of the motorcycle.
The machine remains recognisable and grounded, while the surrounding surface begins to loosen and disperse. Areas of precision give way to interruption; structure becomes gesture, and the visual weight of the motorcycle is balanced by the suggestion of movement passing through it.
Rather than simply depicting a custom machine, El Camino reflects the creative act behind it — the transformation of something engineered into something distinctly personal.
Built to move. Made individual.
