CONSTRUCTED VELOCITY II — PORSCHE 356
A constructed study exploring the space between recognition and abstraction.
Taking the Porsche 356 as its starting point, Constructed Velocity II explores the boundary between representation and abstraction.
Viewed from above, the familiar form is fragmented across three layers of laser-cut plywood, its surfaces painted to suggest aluminium. Recognisable details are deliberately reduced, allowing structure, rhythm and negative space to carry the memory of the original subject.
Rather than describing the car completely, the work offers fragments from which something might be reconstructed. What is recognised — or imagined — is left partly to the viewer.
The result exists somewhere between image and object: a constructed memory of form and movement.
