BAVARIAN DAMPFHAMMER

Bavarian Dampfhammer explores the tension between mechanical presence and movement.

The BMW R90S emerges from a field of layered horizontal marks, its distinctive bodywork held momentarily in focus while the surrounding structure stretches and fragments across the surface. Areas of precise mechanical detail sit alongside passages of abstraction, allowing the machine to shift between solidity and motion.

The vivid orange becomes an anchor within the composition — a moment of clarity against the quieter greys, blacks and traces of colour moving around it. Lines pass through the motorcycle rather than simply surrounding it, suggesting speed as something experienced through the entire machine.

Rather than freezing a moment in time, the work seeks to hold the sensation of movement just long enough for the eye to find it.

Stillness containing speed.
