BETWEEN LIGHT AND SILENCE 01

Between Light and Silence 01 explores the space between structure and nature, enclosure and openness. Built from layered sections of plywood, the composition creates a quiet architectural surface in which small apertures interrupt an otherwise restrained field.

Behind these openings, laser-etched handmade paper carries traces of komorebi — sunlight filtered through leaves. The image is not presented directly, but partially concealed, allowing fragments of light and landscape to appear through the constructed surface.

The work brings together precision and irregularity: measured divisions sit alongside torn fibres, textured paint and the imperfections of the materials themselves. Rather than describing a particular place, the piece suggests the sensation of looking through, looking beyond, and becoming aware of what exists on either side of a boundary.

What is concealed can still be felt.

Haiku

Light enters the room.
Leaves move beyond the silence.
The wall remembers.
